Springboard

pringboard is a community based charity providing a safe, accessible, inclusive play and recreation centre for young people with special needs or disabilities and to families with young children, irrespective of their ethnicity or status, together with support, advocacy and information services for our members.

Springboard Project has now been established for 20 years, having been originally formed from the nucleus of the "Grasshoppers" self help group and other voluntary groups for young children with disabilities. Now, the Project has seven membership groups with two new groups have been formed recently - "Buddies" - a new Buddy Scheme for young people aged 11-18 with special needs or disabilities and "Bunny Hoppers" which is a group for under 5's needing special support enabling them to prepare for "Grasshoppers" with the involvement of their parents.

A brief overview of the various groups, clubs and schemes follows below, or for more information about Springboard House and all its facilities, see our About Springboard page.
