Cheeky Monkeys

Cheeky Monkeys is the "Play 'n Stay" family members' group who can access our Centre between 10 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday. They can also hire the Centre for children's parties at weekends.

Every week, except during the Christmas break, the Centre at Springboard House is open to all the various member groups that form the Project. However, the vast majority are our family members who bring their children and toddlers during the week and enjoy all the facilities that the Centre has to offer. The Centre is also available for children's parties on Saturdays and Sundays, so with the Grasshoppers Saturday Club and Bunny Hoppers, the Centre is often on the go for seven days a week.

The membership rates per family are currently £8 a month by standing order, or £80 a year, which represents very good value for the facilities at the Centre that are constantly being upgraded. For families on low income or benefits, they can join under the Horsham DC Leisure Access Card scheme with a reduced rate of £6 a month or £60 a year. Organisation rates for other charities or recognised children's support groups are currently £120 a year.

The "Cheeky Monkeys" Family Membership continues to grow with over 300 families registered. As our membership income makes an essential contribution to the charity that is supplemented through "Gift Aid" which increased our income by over £10,000 across all memberships last financial year (2005-6 financial year). As with all parts of the Project, usage of the Centre is high and the attendance figures for the financial year (April 2005 - March 2006) totals an amazing 26,917.

Our Centre is very unique in the way that parents are able to stay and play with their children rather than being a childcare setting where the children do not have quality parental time. This develops parenting skills and the children also develop play and social skills in a safe enjoyable environment.

With the addition of our new Pudsey's Playroom, children are able to enjoy arts and crafts sessions for a small charge and are organised on a daily basis by Nina, our new Play Co-ordinator.
