The Springboard Project is joining the Crawley community!

front of house 1

As a charity we have been well established in Horsham supporting the community for over 20 years!

A spark ignited within the charity from the ever expanding memberships and visits to our centre in Horsham from all over the county, that we would be able improve and expand our community support by setting up a second centre in Crawley. After a long wait  and with the astounding support of our funders and an army of volunteers from local businesses, we are now completing the work on our new building in Crawley.

Our new centre, situated  Stagelands in Langley Green, will have the same friendly and warm feeling with a twist on the environment that you are used to in Horsham, to encourage our members and the wider community to make the most of both centres.

In addition this centre provides a vital and much needed base for our Crawley  groups for disabled children and teenagers –  Grasshoppers and Buddies. This facility will enable the children and young people to play, socialise, and develop in an environment that is safe, stimulating and secure.

Pillars to Plough!

pILLARS TO PLOUGH

On the 20th of April 2005 and 2013 Katherine and Su were declaring their love to their husbands on one of the happiest days of their lives, their wedding day! However these brides not only have their wedding anniversaries in common but they also share a passion for the work The Springboard Project does. Katherine is a parent of one of our Horsham Grasshoppers’ and Su is the driving force for our latest project, Springboard House Crawley!

However this year they will both be celebrating their anniversaries in a rather unusual way…..by walking 20MILES!!! Both of them will be taking part in the Ifield Chestnut House Pillars to Plough challenge, walking from Brighton to Crawley!

All the funds raised this year will help to fit out our new inclusive play centre in Crawley, which will be open to the community at the end of April!

So we ask that you please take the time to sponsor either Su or Katherine, remember every pound counts!

Nigel the Giraffe is back!

nigel and ian

We are very pleased to announce that Nigel the Giraffe is home!! He was brought by Ian Huckstepp from @IRHLegal and donated back to us!!  Nigel was donated to us at Springboard as part of the Horsham Giraffe Trail by South Lodge Hotel.

Nigel the Giraffe was lovingly designed and made by the ‘stars of Springboard’, Staff, volunteers and young people

Nigel went on several adventures including high tea at South Lodge,  visiting the Amex stadium in Brighton and to the Paralympics judo training club where he was signed by paralympian Ben Quilter who won a Bronze medal in the 2012 Paralympics.

“I’m soooooo glad to be home! Thank you sooooooo much Ian for helping me out!” – Nigel the Giraffe

Nigel has become our new mascot so keep your eye out for him in future posts and pictures!

We would like to thank Horsham Rotary Club for this opportunity, raising £500 for our charity!
